Pro-Russian agitators who called for shelling and the torture of prisoners have been exposed in Ukraine

The Security Service of Ukraine has exposed and detained four more enemy agitators in various regions of the country. The perpetrators supported Russia’s armed aggression, called for the shelling of Ukrainian cities, and advocated violence against prisoners of war.

In the Kyiv region, law enforcement officers exposed a senior deacon of the Kyiv Metropolis of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate), who used messenger chat rooms to incite Russian soldiers to mistreat Ukrainian fighters. Specifically, he called for holding prisoners without food or water and sending them “to hard labor.”

In the Cherkasy region, an unemployed local resident was placed under suspicion for praising the Russian leadership on social media and calling for a strike on Kyiv.

In the Dnipropetrovsk region, an archimandrite, the former rector of a church in the Sieversk-Donetsk Diocese of the UOC (MP), was exposed. According to the investigation, he justified the occupiers’ crimes and anticipated the complete occupation of Ukraine. After returning from Russia, the cleric conducted services during which he incited believers to support the Kremlin regime.

In the Carpathian region, a woman from the Kosiv district was detained for spreading Soviet symbols on social media and calling for the restoration of the USSR, as well as for disregarding Ukrainian law.

Based on the evidence gathered, all suspects have been notified of charges under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, specifically for propaganda of totalitarian regimes and justifying the Russian Federation’s armed aggression.

The suspects face up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.

Prior to this, the Security Service of Ukraine neutralized a Russian military intelligence agent in the Donetsk region who was planning shelling attacks on Kramatorsk and destroying property belonging to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
