In the first half of 2026, 79,516 marriages were registered in Ukraine. Nearly 40% of couples used the online registration service, and the largest number of new families were formed in Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Lviv regions.
According to the Ministry of Justice, during the first six months of the year, civil registry offices registered 79,516 marriages.
At the same time, an increasing number of Ukrainians are opting for digital government services. Specifically, 30,488 couples—or 38.3% of all newlyweds—officially married through the online marriage registration service.
The largest number of new families were formed during this period in:
Kyiv – 19,928;
Dnipropetrovsk Oblast – 15,545;
Lviv Oblast – 8,909;
Kyiv Oblast – 3,333;
Odesa Oblast – 3,262.
Also among the leading regions in terms of the number of registered marriages are Kharkiv (3,215), Vinnytsia (2,321), Poltava (2,128), Khmelnytskyi (1,930), and Cherkasy (1,916) regions.
The Ministry of Justice noted that state marriage registration is now as accessible as possible. Applications can be submitted to any Civil Registry Office regardless of place of residence, or the entire procedure can be completed remotely using the online registration service.
“State marriage registration has become as simple and accessible as possible. You can submit an application to any branch of the Ministry of Justice’s Civil Registry Office of your choice or use the online marriage registration service to complete the entire procedure remotely,”the Ministry of Justice noted.
The ministry also congratulated the newlyweds and wished every Ukrainian family mutual understanding and a happy future together.
