The Ministry of Internal Affairs explained why a driver's license may not appear in Diia

The Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has issued a warning about widespread fraudulent schemes involving the sale of counterfeit driver’s licenses.

Such documents are not entered into state registries, so they do not appear in the “Diya” app or the Driver’s Cabinet, and their use may result in criminal liability.

The ministry explained that during inspections, it is often discovered that the series and number of the “license” belong to another person or that the document is not listed in government databases at all. In such cases, service centers notify law enforcement.

At the same time, the Ministry of Internal Affairs emphasized that the absence of a license in “Diya” does not always mean it is counterfeit. Documents issued before 2013 are not included in current electronic registries. To have them appear in the app, they must be exchanged free of charge at any Ministry of Internal Affairs service center.

Ukrainians were also urged not to post photos of their driver’s licenses on social media without obscuring personal information. Fraudsters can use the serial number, document number, and other information to create forgeries.

Earlier, a fatal traffic accident occurred in the Obukhiv district. A 70-year-old driver of a passenger car was killed in the accident, and two female passengers were injured.

In Ukraine, since the beginning of this year, 390 people—including 168 children—have been injured in traffic accidents involving light electric vehicles.
