Zheleznyak revealed a scheme to siphon funds from Energoatom through a state-owned plant

People’s Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak stated that those implicated in the so-called “Mindich tapes” may have used the state-owned “Nasosenergomash” plant to siphon funds from “Energoatom” through the private company “Aten.”

According to the MP, the scheme worked as follows: the private company would win tenders, order the manufacture of parts at the state-owned plant, and then sell the finished products to “Energoatom” at a significantly higher price. As an example, Zheleznyak cited a tender in which “Energoatom” paid 149 million hryvnias, even though, according to his data, the factory’s production costs amounted to approximately 7 million hryvnias.

Zheleznyak believes that if purchases had been made directly from the state-owned enterprise, the costs could have been significantly lower. He also reported that Ukrainian anti-corruption authorities have allegedly already taken an interest in this information.
