Ukraine has revised its rules for freight transport
The government has updated the Traffic Rules, clarifying the regulations for freight transport.
This was announced by Taras Melnychuk, the Cabinet of Ministers’ representative in the Verkhovna Rada.
In particular, new terms have been introduced: “container truck” and “container transport.”
For such transport, increased maximum weights of 42 and 44 tons have been permitted.
At the same time, standard limits remain in place for other freight transport.
On national highways—up to 40 tons; on local roads—up to 24 tons.
The changes are intended to regulate the transportation market and prevent abuses involving weight violations.
As a reminder, Ukraine ranks among the top ten countries with the highest number of traffic violations.
The Cabinet of Ministers adopted a resolution increasing fines for unauthorized parking in spaces designated for drivers with disabilities to 300 non-taxable minimum incomes—5,100 hryvnias.
