Prices for local cherries have fallen in Ukraine

UA NEWS 12 June 2026 11:23
Prices for local cherries have fallen in Ukraine

This week, Ukrainian producers were forced to reduce their wholesale prices for cherries by an average of 23%. This was due to increased market supply and intensified competition from imported berries.

It is noted that the price drop for cherries was caused by a simultaneous increase in imported volumes and a massive influx of berries from Ukrainian producers. Amid intensifying competition, sellers are forced to lower prices on perishable products.

“Currently, local cherries are being sold at a price of 70–150 UAH/kg (1.56–3.33 USD/kg), which is on average 23% cheaper than at the end of last week,” the report states.

At the same time, growers note that the supply of cherries on the market remains quite substantial, despite earlier expectations. Additional pressure on prices is also being exerted by some consumers’ dissatisfaction with the quality of local produce.

According to analysts’ estimates, cherries in Ukraine currently cost an average of 43% less than during the same period last year. Market participants do not rule out that the downward price trend will continue, given the limited shelf life of this fruit.

This is reported by analysts from the EastFruit project.
