2,134 children abducted by Russia have been returned to Ukraine

A total of 2,134 children who had been illegally taken to Russia since the start of the full-scale invasion have returned to Ukraine.

Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets announced this in a Telegram post.

He also noted that the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children now includes 49 members, including recent additions such as Switzerland and Cyprus.

“Russia does not listen to arguments; it responds only to force. That is why sanctions and pressure must be intensified. I am grateful to every country that is taking steps to restore justice,” Lubinets emphasized.

According to him, Canada has imposed sanctions against 23 individuals and 5 entities linked to the so-called “re-education” camps for Ukrainian children.

The EU has imposed sanctions against 16 individuals and 7 entities.

The United Kingdom has imposed sanctions against 63 individuals and 22 organizations involved in the illegal adoption of Ukrainian children.

“Currently, 2,134 children have already returned home as part of the President of Ukraine’s Bring Kids Back UA initiative. But thousands of children still remain under temporary occupation or on Russian territory,” Lubinets added.

As a reminder, the Ombudsman stated that the use of balaclavas during mobilization measures is unacceptable.

It is also known that 6,622 Ukrainians have returned from captivity since the start of the full-scale war.
