Rolling blackouts will be in effect across all regions of Ukraine on April 2
Tomorrow, April 2, from 12:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., electricity consumption restriction schedules will be in effect for industrial facilities in all regions of Ukraine.
This was reported by Ukrenergo.
The limits were introduced due to the consequences of recent Russian missile and drone attacks on energy infrastructure facilities. Energy officials are urging the public and businesses to be mindful of the need for energy conservation during peak hours.
To effectively distribute the load on the power grid, it is recommended to postpone the use of high-power electrical appliances to the period from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. During the morning and evening hours of peak load, the public is asked to limit energy consumption as much as possible. Such measures will help stabilize the grid’s operation and avoid emergency outages for residential consumers.
The situation in the power grid remains dynamic and may change depending on the current state of power generation and transmission. The official websites of regional power companies in each region will publish updates regarding possible changes to the schedules. Compliance with the recommendations of energy officials is critically important for maintaining the integrity of Ukraine’s power grid amid constant threats from the Russian Federation. Restoration work is currently underway at damaged facilities to return to normal power supply as quickly as possible.
On the morning of April 1, Russian drones struck critical infrastructure facilities in the Ivano-Frankivsk region, leading to widespread power outages. The Kolomyia district suffered the most damage to its power grids, leaving approximately 11,000 consumers without electricity.
There were 34 strikes in the Chernihiv region over the past 24 hours, damaging power facilities.
