The High Anti-Corruption Court has for the second time denied a request by a detective from Ukraine’s National Anti-Corruption Bureau to grant access to handwriting samples belonging to Yulia Tymoshenko, the leader of the “Batkivshchyna” parliamentary faction. This was reported by sources within the judicial authorities.
The decision was announced by High Anti-Corruption Court investigating judge Oleksiy Kravchuk, Ukrinform reports, citing a source in law enforcement.
"Tymoshenko refuses to voluntarily grant the investigation access to her handwriting samples. Today, the court denied the detective access to Tymoshenko’s handwriting for the second time. The court denied the request the first time because the Prosecutor General had not approved the motion. The second motion was backed by the Prosecutor General’s signature, but the court still refused to grant it,” said the agency’s source.
He added that on Monday, the investigating judge of the High Anti-Corruption Court announced the operative part of the decision, and the full text of the decision will be provided to the investigation in a few days.
It is worth noting that we contacted the HACC press service for comment, but they reported that the judge was in another court session and would provide a response later.
The investigation established that in December 2025, despite the NABU and SAPO exposing facts of bribery involving members of parliament, the suspect began negotiating with individual lawmakers regarding a system of rewards for loyal voting. This involved a permanent mechanism of cooperation with payments made in advance. The MPs were to follow voting instructions (“for” or “against,” abstention, or non-participation).
On January 14, 2026, Tymoshenko was notified of the charges against her.
