The High Anti-Corruption Court has postponed the preliminary hearing in the Tymoshenko case until July 7

The High Anti-Corruption Court has postponed the preliminary hearing in the Tymoshenko case until July 7

On June 16, the High Anti-Corruption Court began a preliminary hearing in the case of Yulia Tymoshenko, leader of the “Batkivshchyna” party, who is accused of providing improper benefits to members of the Ukrainian parliament. The court decided to adjourn the hearing until July 7.

During the hearing, she noted that the case against her “has deep political roots.”

“In my work, in parliament, and in my interactions with members of parliament, I have not broken the law. The allegations made against me by NABU and the SAPO are not supported by any evidence. There were no issues regarding financial resources. They are only presenting me with a conversation recorded by Ihor Kopytin, who has several cases against him at NABU. He did this under duress,” the lawmaker said.

Tymoshenko is asking the court to transfer the case to the Kyiv Court of Appeals. A corresponding motion has been filed with the Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court.

She explains this by citing an alleged conflict between MP Serhiy Vlasenko and representatives of the High Anti-Corruption Court. According to her, Vlasenko, as chairman of the Verkhovna Rada’s Temporary Investigation Commission, requested information regarding the court’s budget.

The judge stated that he lacks the authority to consider this motion, as it falls within the jurisdiction of the judges of the High Administrative Court of Ukraine’s Appeals Chamber.

Tymoshenko is asking the court to postpone the hearing until the High Anti-Corruption Court’s Appeals Chamber rules on the motion.

“If we begin consideration without waiting for this decision, and then a positive decision is made, it will essentially render the time we are spending now on considering other motions prepared by me and my attorney a waste of time,” explained the leader of “Batkivshchyna.”

Judge Oleg Tkachenko adjourned the hearing until the High Anti-Corruption Court’s Appeals Chamber resolves the matter.

The next hearing will take place on July 7, 2026, as Tymoshenko will be on an international trip from June 24 to July 3.

Earlier, NABU and SAPO concluded their investigation into the case involving an alleged bribe offer to MPs by Yulia Tymoshenko, leader of the BYuT, and made the case materials available to the defense for review prior to the trial. The MP herself did not appear for the review.

As a reminder, the court lifted the seizure of some of Yulia Tymoshenko’s and her husband’s property.
