Video: A cardboard protest against Fedorov's dismissal is taking place in Kyiv
A protest is taking place in Kyiv against the dismissal of Mykhailo Fedorov as Ukraine’s defense minister, along with the entire government. More than a thousand people have gathered in the square next to the Ivan Franko Theater, not far from the Office of the President of Ukraine.
Protesters holding signs with slogans are chanting, “We care!” and the traditional “Shame!”
The signs read “Bring Fedorov Back,” “No to Fedorov’s Resignation,” and “Why?”
Protesters say that Fedorov is an effective defense minister and should therefore remain at the helm of Ukraine’s defense ministry.
As a reminder, Deputy Commander of the Ukrainian Air Force Pavlo Yelizarov announced that he had submitted his resignation.
Mykhailo Fedorov, summarizing his work as defense minister, reported that a successful test of a Ukrainian ballistic missile took place on July 14.
Following his decision to resign, Mykhailo Fedorov issued his first statement, in which he summarized his work and identified the tasks that had not been fully accomplished.
