Vinnytsia will receive another 23 low-floor trams from Switzerland

Swiss partners will deliver another batch of 23 Tram 2000 low-floor trams to Vinnytsia, along with a set of necessary spare parts for them.

The delivery of the trams was made possible by a recently signed supplementary agreement as part of the long-term “Zurich Tram” project.

The first modernized cars, adapted for easy use by people with limited mobility, are expected to arrive in the city as early as this summer. Last year, specialists at the Vinnytsia tram depot began retrofitting the previously received Tram 2000 cars with special low-floor sections on their own. Two such upgraded trains are already successfully operating on city routes, and the overall level of public transportation accessibility in Vinnytsia has now reached 70%.

The partnership between Vinnytsia and Zurich has been ongoing for over 20 years. During this time, the Swiss Confederation has donated 116 Mirage and Karpfen tram cars, as well as 67 Tram 2000 units, to the city free of charge, enabling the complete modernization of the local fleet.

Serhiy Morgunov, the mayor of Vinnytsia, announced this on Telegram.
