IDPs can submit their applications for assistance by June 1

The deadline for internally displaced persons to submit documents for living assistance has been extended by another month. Applications for payments can now be submitted until June 1, 2026. The Ministry of Social Policy made this decision to allow more people time to apply for the necessary support.

This was reported bythe Ministry of Social Policy, Family, and Unity of Ukraine.

"The Ministry of Social Policy, Family, and Unity of Ukraine has developed amendments to the resolution regulating the procedure for providing living assistance to internally displaced persons. These amendments expand the categories of recipients so that, regardless of family income, children of IDPs receive living assistance and new opportunities are created for people unable to work," the statement reads.

Consequently, to ensure that all interested parties have time to submit their documents, the ministry has extended the application deadline to June 1. The Cabinet of Ministers supported this decision.

It is noted that payments for children among IDPs will be calculated starting February 1 of this year, regardless of their parents’ income, provided that an application is submitted by June 1, 2026.

In addition, the changes will also apply to Ukrainians with disabilities among IDPs: due to the increase in the subsistence minimum, those whose living allowances were previously suspended due to exceeding the income threshold may submit documents for a review. If an application is submitted by June 1, payments will be calculated starting January 1, 2026.

If documents for recalculation are submitted after June, payments will be calculated starting from the month the application is submitted.

The agency also noted that the payment period for IDPs has been extended. From now on, the maximum number of six-month assistance periods has been increased from four to five, allowing the most vulnerable categories of displaced persons to receive state support for an additional six months.
