Since the beginning of the year, Ukraine has earned $4.46 billion from IT service exports
In the first 8 months of 2026, Ukraine earned $4.46 billion from IT services exports. Year-over-year, this figure rose by 4% and returned to the level seen in the same period of 2023.
Despite the positive trend, this year’s IT export volume has not yet reached the peak levels of 2022.
During the same period in 2022, Ukraine earned 9% more from IT service exports than it has this year.
At the same time, the share of IT services in total service exports remains significant.
In 2026, IT services accounted for 41% of Ukraine’s total service exports.
Overall, in the first eight months of the year, Ukraine earned $10.9 billion from service exports. This is 6% more than during the same period last year.
When considering not only services but also goods exports, the share of IT remains substantial.
IT services account for 12% of total exports of goods and services. Thus, approximately one in every eight dollars that Ukraine earns from exports comes from the IT sector.
In the first 8 months of 2026, total exports of Ukrainian goods and services brought the country $35.8 billion.
This figure has remained virtually unchanged over the past year.
Goods traditionally make up the bulk of Ukrainian exports.
From January through August 2026, goods accounted for 70% of total exports—$24.9 billion.
Thus, alongside goods exports, IT services remain one of the key segments of Ukrainian exports, accounting for a significant portion of foreign exchange earnings from service exports.
