Zelenskyy Named the Main Outcome of the G7 Summit for Ukraine

On June 17, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the key outcome of the G7 leaders’ summit in France was an agreement to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense systems. According to him, this decision is one of the most important results of international negotiations for Kyiv.

He also announced new measures to put pressure on Russia for the full-scale aggression it has unleashed.

“The G7 summit in France yielded important results for Ukraine. Most importantly, we agreed to further strengthen Ukraine’s air defense. There will be new steps to put pressure on Russia over the war—pressure in the interest of peace. Our partners will ensure support for our defense and energy resilience,” Zelenskyy said.

He also emphasized that Ukraine and its partners share “a common understanding of the main challenges and the specific steps needed to address them.”

“Our global unity is effectively reducing Russia’s ability to continue this insane and criminal aggression against Ukraine,” the president concluded on his X page.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with President of the United Arab Emirates Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to discuss further cooperation and security issues. The head of state emphasized the importance of ongoing substantive communication between the countries and expressed gratitude to the UAE leader for his support of Ukraine

Zelenskyy held a meeting with German Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz in Evian, where the G7 summit is taking place.

Zelenskyy entered the meeting room for the first session of the G7 summit alongside U.S. President Donald Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron.
