President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that on July 31, an assassination attempt was made on Igor Obolenskyi, commander of the National Guard’s 13th Brigade “Charter.”
According to the head of state, he has already spoken with the commander. The attacker and his accomplice have been detained, and the necessary legal proceedings are currently underway. Oleksandr Poklad, Deputy Head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), briefed the president on the circumstances of the incident.
“We will definitely respond to this attempt to strike at Ukraine and a Ukrainian commander,” Zelenskyy emphasized.
The president also thanked Igor Obolensky for his service and wished him “to strike even harder at the occupiers.”
