Zelenskyy awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine to Captain Pavlo Shevchuk
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy honored Captain Pavlo Shevchuk with the highest state award. The serviceman was awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine and presented with the Order of the Golden Star for his courage and service to the state.
“For personal courage and heroism demonstrated in defending Ukraine’s state sovereignty and territorial integrity, and his selfless service to the Ukrainian people, Pavlo Valentynovych Shevchuk—Captain—is hereby awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine and presented with the Order of the “Golden Star,”” the document states.
The corresponding decree No. 602/2026, dated July 15, has been published on the President’s website.
As a reminder, Zelenskyy previously awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine to the commander of the Charter.

In addition, the Verkhovna Rada passed a law establishing a new state award—the Order of Europe. It will be awarded to Ukrainian citizens and foreigners for outstanding contributions to supporting Ukraine’s European course.
