Zelenskyy appointed Anton Kovalsky as acting Prosecutor General

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has appointed Anton Kovalsky to serve as acting Prosecutor General. 

According to the decree, Volodymyr Zelenskyy made this decision in accordance with Part 2 of Article 11 of the Law of Ukraine “On the Legal Regime of Martial Law.”

The president signed the corresponding decree No. 946/2026 on September 17, 2026.

“To appoint Anton Anatoliyovych KOVALSKY to perform the duties of Prosecutor General,” the document states.

Thus, Anton Kovalsky will serve as acting Prosecutor General of Ukraine.

The corresponding decree was published on the website of the President of Ukraine.

Earlier, Prosecutor General Kravchenko refused to resign voluntarily.

Prosecutor General Kravchenko disappeared after the start of the operation by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO). According to sources in political circles interviewed by UP, Kravchenko drove into the government quarter, after which no one saw him.

Subsequently, Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko was located and stated that he had no connection whatsoever to the cover-up of illegal call centers and had not issued any instructions to facilitate their operations
