Zelenskyy revealed details of his conversation with Trump
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a telephone conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump, during which the two leaders discussed in detail their joint efforts to bring the full-scale war to an end.
The head of state congratulated the American leader on his birthday and briefed him on the current situation on the battlefield.
In addition, the leaders officially agreed to hold a face-to-face meeting during the upcoming G7 summit to further coordinate their actions.
During their lengthy conversation, the leaders touched on a number of strategic issues, paying particular attention to strengthening Ukraine’s defensive positions and diplomatic steps.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed his gratitude to the American people and the White House for the consistent and substantial assistance provided to the country since the first days of the full-scale Russian invasion.
“I wished President Trump success, first and foremost in his efforts to end Russia’s war against Ukraine. I also thanked him for all the support America is providing to Ukraine, and it is important that we gratefully remember every step of this support, from Javelins to Patriots,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized.
During the discussion of defense issues, the head of state separately emphasized strengthening the resilience of the Ukrainian army and the effective use of Western weapons.
Timely deliveries of military equipment allow the Defense Forces to effectively deter the offensive actions of the occupying forces in key sectors of the front. This directly contributes to the formation of a strong negotiating position for Ukraine on the international stage.
“We discussed what could help bring peace closer now, and I briefed the president on the latest developments on the battlefield and how our position has strengthened,” Zelenskyy added.
The President of Ukraine announced this on his official page on social media platform X.
