Zelenskyy hopes to meet with Trump in September
Volodymyr Zelenskyy is expecting to meet with Donald Trump in the 20s of September. Ukraine is also counting on a concrete outcome regarding the provision of anti-ballistic missiles from the U.S., the need for which has already been conveyed to representatives of the American president.
The president stated that U.S. representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner received detailed information about the anti-ballistic missiles Ukraine needs and the timeline for their delivery.
Zelenskyy plans to raise the issue of a “winter package” to counter ballistic missiles during a face-to-face meeting with the U.S. president.
According to him, during the latest attack, air defense forces destroyed about 90% of nearly 180 aerial targets, including more than three dozen cruise missiles. At the same time, the results against ballistic missiles were significantly worse due to a lack of necessary resources.
Ukraine is also developing its own anti-ballistic system, FREYJA, and is counting on support for the program from the U.S. and European partners.

On September 8, Russian troops launched an attack using two “Shahed” drones against the Kyiv–Sumy train. The train had been stopped in advance, and passengers and crew members were evacuated following a warning from the Ukrzaliznytsia monitoring team.
As a reminder, fires broke out at industrial facilities in the Kyiv region due to the Russian attack.
Russia also launched a massive attack on Kyiv, killing and wounding civilians.
Later, rescue workers showed the aftermath of the strikes on Kyiv.
