Zelenskyy and Merz discussed the supply of missiles for the Patriot system and the situation on the front lines
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a phone conversation with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, during which the two leaders discussed strengthening Ukraine’s air defense, the situation on the front lines, and continued support for Ukraine.
According to Zelenskyy, the main topic of the talks was the supply of missiles for the Patriot air defense systems, which are necessary to protect Ukrainian cities from Russian ballistic attacks.
“I spoke with German Chancellor Merz. Thank you for your support and assistance to our people and our country. Germany is one of the global leaders in protecting lives, and we greatly appreciate that. The key issue right now is missiles for the ‘Patriots’ to protect our people from Russian ballistic attacks. We discussed this above all else—the possibility of supplying our Patriot systems with the necessary missiles, since Russia is staking everything on missile strikes against Ukraine: Russia has no other options to prolong the war,” the President emphasized.
In addition, Zelenskyy briefed the German chancellor on the current situation at the front and the results of the fighting.
Separately, the President of Ukraine responded to the Russian dictator’s claims regarding the alleged capture of Kostiantynivka in the Donetsk region, calling them false.
“Now, on the eve of America’s Independence Day, Putin has decided to lie to the world and to the President of the United States about the situation on the front lines: he claims that the Russians have supposedly captured Kostiantynivka in the Donbas. Of course, this is not true—it’s just another Russian lie designed to generate some kind of news… If Kostiantynivka is currently under Russian control, then Putin would presumably have no problem meeting with me there and finding diplomatic solutions to finally end the war. But he still won’t cross the front lines: the truth is very different from what Putin says,” Zelenskyy stated.
In closing, the President thanked the Ukrainian military for defending the country, as well as Germany and all international partners for supporting Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression.

Earlier, the German company ARX Robotics and the Ukrainian company Roboneers established a joint venture, ARX Industries, which will specialize in the mass production of ground-based robotic systems for the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
In addition, the British military is working on developing a new navigation system designed to reduce the vulnerability of military ships to Russian electronic warfare capabilities. The project aims to ensure more reliable positioning of the fleet in conditions of active GPS jamming.
