A resident of the Khmelnytskyi region will stand trial for passing information about air defense and the defense industry to Russia
Prosecutors from the Khmelnytskyi Regional Prosecutor’s Office have filed an indictment with the court against a 25-year-old resident of the region on charges of treason under martial law.
According to the investigation, the defendant collected and transmitted information to Russian intelligence services about defense industry facilities and the locations of Ukrainian air defense systems.
In June 2026, the man contacted a handler from the aggressor state via Telegram and, in exchange for payments ranging from 800 to over 8,000 hryvnias, secretly filmed military equipment and defense enterprises. In particular, he provided the enemy with data on the locations of mobile air defense systems during air raid alerts. In late June, SBU officers detained the suspect while he was carrying out another assignment; he is currently in custody without the right to bail.
