The 412th Separate "Nemesis" Brigade imposed a logistical lockdown on Russia
The 412th Separate "Nemesis" Unmanned Systems Brigade announced large-scale strikes against Russian military logistics. According to the brigade, in July alone, its troops struck and destroyed nearly 500 vehicles and about 400 motorcycles and military buggies. Some of the targets, according to the military, were struck by drones far from the front lines—at distances of up to 200 kilometers or more.
Ukrainian forces continue to strike at Russian logistics not only directly near the front lines but also deep in the rear. The 412th “Nemesis” Brigade reported on the results of these operations. According to the brigade, in July, Ukrainian crews struck and destroyed nearly 500 pieces of Russian military vehicle equipment. This includes various vehicles used to transport personnel, ammunition, fuel, and other cargo.
Separately, military officials reported that approximately 400 motorcycles and military buggies were destroyed or damaged. Russian units use such vehicles for rapid movement, cargo delivery, and communication between positions. According to the brigade, trucks and fuel tankers were also targeted. The military claims that some of them were destroyed far from the front lines.
Nemesis refers to this as a “logistical lockdown.” The logic behind this tactic is simple: the more difficult it is for Russian troops to transport ammunition, fuel, equipment, and personnel, the harder it is for them to support their units on the front lines.
How Ukrainian Drones Target Enemies
The brigade explained that different types of drones perform different tasks. This allows the Ukrainian military to target Russian logistics at various distances. FPV drones are primarily used to attack equipment closer to the line of contact. Their targets may include cars, trucks, buggies, and other equipment that Russian forces use directly on the front lines.
To strike targets in the rear, the brigade employs other unmanned systems. Among them, the military mentions the Hornet and Morrigan drones. These drones enable operations along the routes used by Russian troops to transport essential supplies. These include roads and other routes used by trucks, fuel tankers, and other vehicles. “FPV drones attack enemy trucks, cars, and buggies near the front line. Hornet and Morrigan ‘middle strike’ drones target rear supply routes,” the 412th Brigade reported.
According to military officials, the purpose of these strikes is to disrupt supplies to Russian units. At risk are shipments of ammunition, fuel, drones, provisions, and troop reinforcements.
Morrigan drones operate far from the front lines
The brigade paid particular attention to the long-range Morrigan drones. Military officials state that these drones can target Russian logistics at a considerable distance from the line of contact.
According to Nemesis, these distances range from 50 to over 200 kilometers. In other words, Ukrainian crews are attempting to target transport not only where combat operations are currently taking place, but also along the routes Russian troops use to resupply their units. Rear logistics is a crucial part of any army’s operations. The military needs regular supplies of ammunition, fuel, food, spare parts, and other equipment. Without these, military vehicles cannot function properly, and units cannot sustain active combat operations for long.
Therefore, strikes against transport vehicles can be significant even when the equipment itself is not on the front lines. Destroying a truck or fuel tanker means losing not only the vehicle but also the cargo it was carrying. The brigade claims that this is precisely how Ukrainian drones are gradually making it more difficult for Russian troops to move resources. This was reported by the 412th Airborne Brigade “Nemesis.”
