47 clashes on the front lines in the past 24 hours — the heaviest fighting is in the east

Since the start of the day, 47 combat engagements have been recorded along the front line, with the heaviest fighting taking place in the Pokrovsk and Huliaipole sectors. Russian troops are attempting to advance, but the Ukrainian Armed Forces are repelling the attacks and inflicting casualties. This was reported by the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The Pokrovsk direction remains one of the most challenging sections of the front, where the enemy has carried out 13 attacks, attempting to dislodge Ukrainian units from their positions in the areas of Novooleksandrivka, Rodynske, Pokrovsk, Hryshyne, and Udachne. Some of the fighting there is still ongoing.

The situation is no less tense in the Huliaipole sector, where Ukrainian troops repelled 12 enemy assaults as the enemy attempted to advance in the areas of several settlements, including Huliaipole and surrounding territories.

In the northern sectors, the enemy continues to shell border areas. Settlements in the Sumy and Chernihiv regions came under fire, with damage and shelling of civilian infrastructure reported.

Three combat engagements took place in the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors. The enemy also employed aviation and multiple launch rocket systems. In the Kharkiv region, Russian troops attacked Ukrainian positions four times in the areas of Starytsia, Vilcha, and Kolodyazne, with some of the fighting still ongoing.

In the Lyman sector, four assault attempts were recorded, which were also directed at the positions of the Defense Forces.

In the Kostiantynivka sector, Ukrainian forces repelled nine enemy attacks near several settlements, including Kostiantynivka, Ivanopil, and Rusyn Yar.

Meanwhile, no active enemy offensive operations have been recorded in the Kupiansk, Sloviansk, Kramatorsk, Oleksandrivka, and Dnipro directions.

In the Orikhiv sector, the enemy attempted to advance toward Shcherbakiv but was repelled by Ukrainian forces.

The General Staff emphasizes that there have been no significant changes in the situation on other sections of the front, and Ukrainian troops continue to wear down the enemy along the entire line of contact. “Ukrainian troops are wearing down the enemy along the entire line of contact and in the rear,” the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine noted. The front remains active, with the fiercest fighting concentrated in the east of the country, where the enemy continues to search for weak spots in the defense but has not succeeded.

In the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kyiv, a business center was hit following a massive nighttime attack by Russia. Preliminary reports indicate that people may be trapped inside the shelter.

As a result of Russia’s massive missile and drone attack on Kyiv, the shock wave damaged the ground-level lobby of the Lukyanivska metro station.

On the night of May 24, Russian forces carried out a massive combined attack on Kyiv, using ballistic missiles and strike drones. All districts of the capital came under fire.
