Clearing of Yuvileinyi: Ukrainian forces drive Russians out of a strategic district in Kupiansk
Ukrainian soldiers carried out a complex but successful operation in Kupiansk, returning the Yuvileinyi residential district to Ukrainian control. According to the 425th Separate Assault Regiment “Skelia,” this area is considered one of the key positions for the defense of the city, as it lies on commanding heights and affects the movement of the Defense Forces.
Russian units had previously managed to advance into the district and occupy several high-rise buildings. This created a serious threat, as the occupiers gained the ability to cut off the main logistical route that passes directly through Yuvileinyi. “Control over this location means control over Kupiansk,” the regiment emphasized.
After securing positions inside the buildings, the Russians began amassing forces and preparing to move further toward Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi. The city was essentially threatened with a new wave of occupation.
Ukrainian defenders acted swiftly: during the assault, they decided to blow up the high-rise building where the largest concentration of enemy troops had gathered. One of the entrances collapsed, opening the way for the full clearing of all buildings in the neighborhood.
As a result, Ukrainian forces completely drove the occupiers out of this strategic district and stabilized the situation on this section of the front.
