Anti-drone nets will be installed along roads in Volyn near the Belarusian border

In border communities in Volyn Oblast, work will begin on installing anti-drone nets along certain sections of highways.

These measures are intended to strengthen regional security and enhance protection against potential threats involving the use of drones.

This was announced by Roman Romanyuk, head of the Volyn Regional Military Administration.

According to him, preparations for the region’s defense infrastructure have been underway since before Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Currently, engineering barriers, fortified defensive positions, and other protective elements have already been installed throughout the region.

The next step will be the installation of special anti-drone nets over certain sections of roads in the border zone.

In particular, such structures are planned to be installed in specific areas within the Shatsk community. They are intended to make it more difficult to use drones for reconnaissance or attacks on critical facilities and transportation routes.

“We must be as prepared as possible for any turn of events. Volyn is currently one of the best-prepared border regions in Ukraine, and this work must continue,” emphasized Roman Romaniuk.

The head of the Regional State Administration noted that the appearance of new protective structures sometimes causes concern among local residents. Some of the population perceives such work as a sign of a possible escalation of the security situation.

“This is somewhat alarming to the local population; many assume that it is dangerous. God forbid that they should ever be needed. But we must be prepared in any case,” he said.

This was reported by Roman Romanyuk, head of the Volyn Regional State Administration.
