The explosion damaged the tanker's hull and part of the superstructure, but the ship did not sink and remained afloat. According to Russian sources, the crew was not injured, although some of the sailors suffered minor concussions.

The ship made its own way to the nearest Turkish port, where it was moored for inspection and repair. The local coast guard immediately cordoned off the area to prevent possible fuel leaks.

The photo shows metal holes in the hull of the MIDVOLGA-2, as well as fragments of the drone that struck the ship.

The tanker MIDVOLGA-2, which was travelling from Russia to Georgia with a cargo of sunflower oil, reportedthat it had been attacked in the Black Sea 80 miles off the coast of Turkey.
