Azov fighters eliminated more than 5,200 invaders in August alone
Throughout August, servicemen from units of the 1st Corps of the Ukrainian National Guard “Azov” neutralized more than 5,200 Russian military personnel. In addition, the fighters destroyed hundreds of vehicles and armored vehicles, as well as thousands of enemy drones.
During a working trip to the Dnipropetrovsk region, Minister of Internal Affairs Ivan Vygivsky discussed with Denis Prokopenko, commander of the “Azov” military group, the expansion of the area of responsibility, management decisions, and strengthening logistical support for the defense of the Donetsk region.
The Minister of Internal Affairs also held a meeting with commanders of State Border Guard Service units and National Guard brigades “Bureviy,” “Rubizh,” “Azov,” “Chervona Kalyna,” and “Lyubart,” after which he presented state awards and departmental honors to soldiers on the front lines.

Lieutenant Colonel Andriy Moiseenko was killed during a Ukrainian Armed Forces strike on Russian military facilities in the temporarily occupied city of Donetsk. This is Lieutenant Colonel Artem Akimov, who served as deputy commander of the army’s air defense command. Researchers speculate that he may have been killed during a Ukrainian strike on a command post in Donetsk on August 26, though this version of events has not yet been independently confirmed.
