Russian attack on Pavlohrad, Ukraine, claims seven lives
The Russian Federation—an aggressor state—launched a massive strike on Pavlohrad in Ukraine. Seven people were killed and another 76 were injured, including children. As Cyprus Mail reports, Russian forces used drones, artillery and aerial bombs against the city.
According to regional head Oleksandr Hanzha, five districts of Pavlohrad came under attack. The city is a railway and logistics hub for a coal-mining region, as well as an important supply route between central Ukraine and the eastern front line. Published photographs show damaged shops and burned-out cars.
Strikes on Kyiv and Dnipro
In Kyiv, Russian forces attacked a Ukrnafta petrol station. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported four people injured. The publication notes that this was likely the first strike by a jet-powered drone on such a facility in Kyiv. Over recent months, around 300 attacks on petrol stations in or near Ukraine’s frontline regions have been reported.

Russian forces also attacked a Bunge sunflower oil production facility in Dnipro. Two people were killed and another five were injured, a local official said. The facility is among Ukraine’s five largest food production sites and has the capacity to process 1,600 tonnes of oilseeds per day. According to Hanzha, attacks on Dnipro continued until the evening.
Officials’ statements
Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said this was the second attack in several weeks on a business owned by an American company. He described the strikes as part of Moscow’s systematic campaign against American business and economic interests.
Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi said the number of Russian attacks on businesses and civilian infrastructure is rapidly increasing and called on the government to act proactively. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who was in Canada, also reported Russian strikes on settlements in the Donetsk and Kharkiv regions. In Sumy, a jet-powered drone struck a shopping centre, according to city authorities.
