UAF fighters eliminated 1,400 occupiers in a day
The Armed Forces of Ukraine have released updated statistics on the losses of Russian troops since the start of the full-scale invasion on 24 February 2022.
This was reported in a publication by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Telegram.
As of 8 January 2026, enemy losses amount to more than 1,400 occupiers over the past day alone. In total, 11,521 tanks, 23,874 armoured fighting vehicles, 35,874 artillery systems, 434 aircraft and 347 helicopters have been destroyed on the battlefield. This indicates a serious depletion of Russian resources.
In addition, the enemy has lost 1,596 multiple launch rocket systems and 1,269 air defence systems.
Russian aviation losses include 434 aircraft and 347 helicopters. Particular attention is paid to unmanned aerial vehicles: since the beginning of the war, 102,074 operational-tactical drones have been shot down. A total of 4,137 cruise missiles have been destroyed, significantly reducing the enemy’s strike capability.
At sea, the enemy has lost 28 ships and boats, as well as 2 submarines. Losses of motor vehicles and fuel tankers amount to 73,336 units, and special equipment to 4,037 units. Such losses severely limit the mobility and logistics of Russian forces.
According to the General Staff, over the past day alone the enemy additionally lost 1,400 personnel, 6 tanks, 9 armoured vehicles, 17 artillery systems, 1 MLRS and 225 operational-tactical UAVs.
These figures confirm the ongoing depletion of the enemy’s resources and the effectiveness of the actions of the Ukrainian army.
The General Staff’s statistics demonstrate not only the scale of Russia’s losses, but also the resilience of Ukraine’s defence and the ability of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to maintain control of the situation on all fronts, effectively destroying enemy personnel, equipment and weapons.
