Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters delivered new strikes on Russian occupiers: more than a thousand in a day
As of December 29, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported losses of Russian occupiers, which over the past day amounted to 1,180 soldiers, as well as hundreds of units of drones and automotive equipment.
Since the beginning of the war, from February 24, 2022, the total losses of Russian troops have increased significantly. This indicates the continuation of Ukrainian counteroffensives and efforts in the fight against the aggressor, which is important for maintaining the morale of Ukrainian military personnel and the population.
At the same time, against the backdrop of the successes of Ukrainian forces, the situation in some sections of the front remains difficult. In particular, Ukrainian defenders were forced to leave the occupied Siversk in order to preserve their forces, while in other cities, such as Pokrovsk, Myrnohrad, and Huliaipole, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to defend control, despite disinformation from the Russian command, which is trying to present its situation as successful.
Thus, from February 24, 2022 to December 29, 2025 inclusive, the estimated combat losses of the enemy amounted to:
personnel — about 1,205,690 (+1,180) people.
tanks — 11,472 (+3).
armored combat vehicles — 23,837 (+6) units.
artillery systems — 35,570 (+13) units.
MLRS — 1,581 units.
air defense systems — 1,264 units.
aircraft — 434 units.
helicopters — 347 units.
operational-tactical level UAVs — 96,532 (+305) units.
cruise missiles — 4,136 units.
ships / boats — 28 units.
submarines — 2 units.
automotive equipment and fuel trucks — 71,891 (+113) units.
special equipment — 4,030 (+1) units.

The continuation of the war leads to the accumulation of Ukrainian forces in critical directions, which increases the chances of possible successes in the future. According to representatives of the General Staff, the reality at the front differs significantly from the statements of the Russian leadership, which may affect the further strategy of both sides.
