Belarus Reactivates Retransmitters for Russian "Shaheeds" — State Border Service of Ukraine
During the attack on the “Yagodin” checkpoint, the Russians may have used relay stations located on Belarusian territory. These stations help Russian drones maintain their signal and penetrate deeper into Ukraine.
Andriy Demchenko, a spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service, stated that Belarus has once again activated these devices. According to him, Russian “Shahed” and “Gerbera” drones entering from Russian territory remain near the Belarusian border, where they receive an additional signal to continue their flight deeper into Ukraine.
In this way, the drones can reach western regions, specifically Volyn, Rivne, and Lviv regions. Demchenko noted that the strike in the direction of the “Yagodin” border crossing was also carried out with the support of Belarusian repeaters.
According to the State Border Guard Service representative, Belarus had previously shut down these systems following a warning from Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Now, as Demchenko asserts, they have been turned back on.
At the same time, he emphasized that there is currently no immediate threat of an invasion from Belarus: no buildup of strike forces ready for an offensive has been detected near the Ukrainian border.
