Drone attack in Sevastopol halts ferry operations
On Tuesday, in temporarily occupied Sevastopol, maritime passenger transport, including the ferry service, was suspended for several hours.
According to propaganda sources, ship movement was halted following another overnight drone attack.
The occupation administration did not provide official reasons for the suspension, but local residents link the incident to Ukrainian drone strikes on the port’s military infrastructure.
According to the so-called “Directorate for the Development of the City’s Road and Transport Infrastructure,” the restrictions lasted over two hours. Only later in the day was a brief statement issued saying that “maritime passenger transport has resumed operations.”
The occupation authorities did not provide any details about the nature of the threat, potential damage, or the reasons for the restrictions, limiting themselves to a standard, terse announcement.
Local propaganda outlets, citing anonymous sources, suggested that the halt could have been due to “danger in the water area.” Russian media attempted to downplay the incident, presenting it as a “planned traffic restriction.”
