Due to shelling, consumers in eight regions remain without power

As of the morning of June 1, due to Russian shelling of energy infrastructure, some consumers in the Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, Sumy, Kherson, Kharkiv, and Chernihiv regions remain temporarily without power. At the same time, there are currently no plans to implement rolling blackouts for residential or industrial customers.

This was reported by the press services of the Ministry of Energy and Ukrenergo.

The ministry assured that energy workers are working around the clock to restore power to all customers as quickly as possible. Restoration work is ongoing 24 hours a day.

According to Ukrenergo, electricity consumption in Ukraine is in line with seasonal trends. Today, June 1, as of 9:30 a.m., it was at the same level as the previous business day—Friday, May 29.

Yesterday, May 31, the daily peak in consumption was recorded in the evening. It was 2.7% lower than the peak of the previous Sunday—May 24. The reason for the change is the mild weather, which does not require the use of air conditioners.

At the same time, the company asked Ukrainians not to turn on several high-power electrical appliances simultaneously during the evening hours today—from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

They also noted that the situation in the power grid may change and advised people to follow updates on the websites and official social media pages of each regional power company separately.

Russian drones attacked a residential area in Sumy

On the night of May 30, Russian forces launched a massive drone strike on the Shostka community in Sumy Oblast, damaging residential buildings and infrastructure.

Over the course of the day, Russian troops attacked four districts in the Dnipropetrovsk region simultaneously using drones, resulting in fires and damage to infrastructure.

Over the course of the day, Russian troops carried out 911 strikes on 40 settlements in Zaporizhzhia Oblast. The occupiers used aircraft, artillery, and hundreds of drones, damaging residential buildings, vehicles, and infrastructure.
