Paratroopers repel Russian mass assault on Pokrovsky direction
Soldiers of the 46th Separate Air Assault Brigade successfully repelled a massive assault by Russian forces on the Pokrovsky direction, destroying armored vehicles and killing around 60 Russian soldiers, who were reportedly using “Bukhanka” vans instead of BMPs.
The Air Assault Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported this on Facebook, sharing a video of the battle.
During the assault, the enemy deployed armored vehicles, but the paratroopers eliminated 59 Russian occupiers, wounded another six, and destroyed two tanks, two infantry fighting vehicles, and three UAZ “Bukhanka” vehicles.
Since the start of January 7, there have been 140 combat clashes between Ukrainian Defense Forces and Russian occupiers across eight directions, with fighting still ongoing in all. The highest number of attacks (44) occurred on the Pokrovske direction.
Meanwhile, Russian command ordered their troops to capture Kupiansk at all costs, but the occupiers have been unable to complete this mission. According to Viktor Trehubov, the city is still being cleared, and the situation for Russian units remains critical.
