“Wild Hornets” show first shoot-down of new Shahed-107 drone
The Ukrainian development team “Wild Hornets” has released footage of the first confirmed destruction of the new Russian kamikaze drone Shahed-107.
According to reports, the target was destroyed by pilots of the 47th Separate Mechanised Brigade “Magura” air defence unit. The hostile drone was shot down using a STING interceptor, equipped with the Hornet Vision video system from the Wild Hornets. The released footage captures the moment of tracking and engagement.
On 25 November, Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) shared details about the Shahed-107. This Iranian high-wing UAV has a less conventional design compared to other Shahed drones previously seen in Ukraine. It is believed that Russia received the first units from Tehran under a deal reportedly worth over $2 million. GUR describes the introduction of these drones into Russia and their use against Ukraine as further evidence of deepening cooperation between Tehran and Moscow.

Even for Iran, these drones are relatively new. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps first unveiled them in June 2025 during heightened tensions in the Iran–Israel conflict, GUR notes. Shahed-107 drones are reportedly equipped to seek high-value targets, including UK and US MLRS systems used by the Ukrainian army. Sky News reported on Shahed-107 as a new Iranian military development in winter 2024.
The UAVs feature X-shaped stabilising tail fins and a two-stroke petrol engine. The body is made of lightweight carbon fibre with aluminium structural elements, making the drone both light and durable. Shahed-107 uses an inertial navigation system (IMU) and is fitted with a four-stage jamming-resistant antenna and protective block, which reduces the impact of some electronic warfare measures but does not fully prevent them.
GUR examined a sample of this drone, noting it carried a 15 kg cumulative fragmentation-explosive warhead. While similar in design to other Iranian Shahed warheads, this is smaller than standard (40–50 kg) or upgraded Shahed warheads (up to 90 kg).
Russian forces launched a mass drone attack on Odesa region, damaging port infrastructure and injuring one person.
Ukrainian air defences intercepted a missile and 52 drones during Russia’s night attack on Ukraine.
