Air defence shoots down one missile and 52 drones during Russia’s night attack on Ukraine
On the night of 30 December, Russian forces carried out a massive aerial attack on Ukraine. From 06:00 p.m. on 29 December, the enemy launched two Iskander-M ballistic missiles from temporarily occupied Crimea and Russia’s Voronezh region, as well as 60 attack drones of the Shahed, Gerbera and other types from Russian territory and the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea. Around 40 of the drones were Shahed UAVs.
This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine’s Defence Forces.
According to preliminary data, as of 09:00 air defence forces had destroyed or suppressed one ballistic missile and 52 enemy drones in the north, south and east of the country. At the same time, impacts of one missile and eight attack UAVs were recorded at five locations.
