Drones attacked one of the largest oil refineries in Russia, located in Yaroslavl
A drone attack took place overnight in the Yaroslavl Region of the Russian Federation; the target may have been the Slavneft-YANOS oil refinery—one of the largest in Russia.
This was reported by local Telegram channels and the governor of the Yaroslavl region, Mikhail Yevraev.
According to preliminary data, the Slavneft-YANOS oil refinery, which is the sixth largest in Russia and processes about 15 million tons of oil per year, may have been targeted.
Videos have appeared online showing drones flying over the city.
The governor of the Yaroslavl region confirmed a massive drone attack, stating that there were no casualties and that most of the drones were reportedly shot down.
At the same time, he reported that a strike on an industrial facility was recorded, after which a fire broke out, which emergency services are currently extinguishing.
The Russian Ministry of Defense claimed that 315 Ukrainian drones were allegedly shot down overnight, but there is no independent confirmation of this information.
On the night of May 19, explosions were heard in the Moscow region amid a drone attack. Drone strikes were also reported in the Yaroslavl region.
As a reminder, Ukrainian military personnel found an anonymous note in one of the Patriot air defense missile systems. The mysterious message was hidden in a false panel inside the system.
