Photos, videos: Russia launches a massive drone attack on Kyiv on September 23
On the morning of September 23, Russia launched a massive attack on Kyiv using strike drones. Hits and falling debris were reported in several districts of the capital; fires broke out, and there is one fatality and several injured. As of 12:45 p.m., the attack was still ongoing.
According to city authorities, in the Holosiivskyi district, a UAV struck a gas station, and a fire broke out in some warehouse facilities. In the Darnytskyi district, a strike on a transportation infrastructure facility and damage to a gas station were reported.

In the Solomyanskyi district, debris fell between residential buildings, and a fire broke out on the grounds of a transportation company.
The Russians also launched a drone attack on the Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture.
As of 12:50 p.m., the attack was ongoing.

Separately, a fire was reported at the “Shayba” market near the train station. According to Ukrzaliznytsia, the station building was not damaged.

Amid the attacks, passengers were urged to avoid Ukrzaliznytsia facilities.
One man was killed in the attack; he died in the hospital from his injuries. In total, according to city authorities, eight people were injured.
Due to an elevated air threat, Kyiv City Express service was temporarily suspended in both directions this morning. Ukrzaliznytsia also reported that one of its employees was injured while returning home after his shift.
In addition, an Ukrnafta gas station in Kyiv was completely destroyed following a Russian attack.
