FPV Drones Fly Farther and Strike More Accurately

Ukrainian military forces have begun using a new type of FPV drone — one equipped with wings. These drones can fly farther and strike targets more effectively, including deep behind enemy lines. Experts describe this development as promising for modern warfare. This was reported by Militarniy, citing analyst Grandpa Roy.

New Ukrainian FPV drones on the front line differ from conventional models by having wings. According to sources, one such drone has already been recorded by Russian forces from the “Rubikon” unit. It is a modified quadcopter with enhanced aerodynamic capabilities.

The main advantage of this innovation is its extended flight range. Thanks to the wings, the drone gains additional lift and consumes less energy to stay airborne. This allows it to cover greater distances than standard FPV drones, which are usually limited by battery life. Analyst Grandpa Roy noted: “This looks like a very promising and important development in the era of small drone warfare.”

Essentially, this design combines the capabilities of a quadcopter and a fixed-wing drone. It opens new possibilities for striking targets deep in enemy territory. For attacks, these drones can carry PG-7 munitions, designed to destroy armored vehicles, fortifications, and enemy personnel. This means the new FPV drones can be effective not only against individual targets but also against more complex objectives.

Experts emphasize that the development of such technology is a logical next step in the evolution of battlefield drones. Lower energy consumption, greater range, and improved accuracy are precisely the factors that are decisive on the modern battlefield.

At the same time, the appearance of these drones shows that the technological race between the sides continues, and new solutions can quickly change the situation on the front.

Earlier, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, stated that the strategic goal of the invaders is currently to capture additional territory to create a so-called “buffer zone” within Dnipropetrovsk region.

The Defense Forces of Ukraine are adjusting military training to effectively counter enemy drones and modern battlefield threats.
