Ukrainian Troops Being Trained to Counter Enemy Drones
The Ukrainian Defense Forces are adjusting their training programs to better counter enemy drones and other modern battlefield threats. Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, emphasized that the priorities are training quality, troop safety, and the technological component of preparation.
“The war changes every day. That’s why we continuously improve basic military training. At the latest working meeting, we decided to revise training programs to focus on countering enemy UAVs and strengthen the technological aspects,” Syrskyi explained. He added that feedback from cadets is currently being analyzed to enhance the programs and improve the material and technical base. Special attention is being paid to the individual training of each soldier.
A key element has been relocating training grounds and centers to safer areas and constructing shelters. “Sixty-eight military units are already conducting combat training on their own facilities. Some brigades train newcomers internally, while others have recently started doing so. The main focus is on results and quality,” Syrskyi added.
During the meeting, combat units presented their experience. The 3rd Assault Brigade and the 57th Mechanized Brigade showcased their methods. “We see problem areas, develop solutions, and implement them. Our partners recognize the high level of Ukrainian troop training and are adopting our experience,” concluded the Commander-in-Chief.
On the night of April 4, Russia attacked Ukraine with nearly three hundred drones. Air defense forces shot down 260 of them, though impacts and falling debris were recorded in several regions.
In the Kherson region, one person was killed and 25 others were injured over the past day due to Russian attacks. Dozens of settlements, including the city of Kherson, were hit.
