Air Defense shoots down 260 drones during massive Russian night attack
On the night of April 4, Russia attacked Ukraine with nearly three hundred drones. Ukrainian air defense forces neutralized 260 of them. At the same time, impacts and falling debris were recorded in several regions, the Ukrainian Air Force reported on Telegram.
The Russian army continues its massive drone attacks on Ukraine. Since the evening of April 3, the enemy launched 286 drones of various types, including Shahed strike drones, as well as Gerbera, Italmas, and others.
The attack came from multiple directions: from Russian territory in the regions of Bryansk, Kursk, Orel, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and Shatalovo. According to the Air Force, around 200 of the drones were Shahed type.
Ukrainian air defense operated throughout the night, using aviation, surface-to-air missile units, electronic warfare units, UAV systems, and mobile firing groups.
By 7:00 a.m., air defense forces had neutralized 260 enemy drones across the north, south, east, and central regions of Ukraine. Despite this, some strikes could not be avoided: 11 drones hit 10 different locations, and debris from downed drones fell in six other places.
The attack is not over. According to the military, about 20 enemy drones remained in Ukrainian airspace. The Air Force emphasizes that the drone threat persists and urges people not to ignore air raid alerts. Air defense operations continue around the clock.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also stated that in March, the Russian army suffered its heaviest losses since the start of the full-scale war.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine published data on the progress of Russian occupying forces over the past month.
