The Ministry of Defense has reported how much Ukrainian territory was seized by Russia in March
The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has released data on the advance of Russian occupation forces over the past month.
According to official information from the ministry, as a result of continuous offensive operations, the enemy managed to capture approximately 160 square kilometers of Ukrainian territory.
The Ministry of Defense’s press service clarified that this area corresponds in size to a square with a side slightly longer than 12 km.
This result was due to the extremely high intensity of combat engagements, with 4,985 recorded throughout March.
A key factor in the occupiers’ advance was the increase in air support. In March, the Russian Federation’s military deployed a record number of guided aerial bombs (GAB) since the start of the year—7,987 units.
This is 1,500 bombs more than were recorded in February, indicating the enemy’s attempts to “break through” the defenses with massive airstrikes.
In addition to aviation, the invaders actively used artillery, carrying out approximately 115,000 shelling attacks on the positions of the Defense Forces and populated areas.
Despite the enemy’s territorial gains, the cost of every kilometer for the aggressor remains extremely high.
As a reminder, 62 clashes have occurred on the front lines since the start of the day.
The occupiers are also advancing in the Sumy region, while the Armed Forces of Ukraine have regained positions near Rodynske.
