Zelenskyy Announced in Serbia That Patriot Interceptor Deliveries Have Been Reduced
During his first official visit to Serbia, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the supply of interceptor missiles for the Patriot systems in 2026 had decreased compared to 2025. In Belgrade, he also condemned the nighttime attack by the Russian Federation—an aggressor state—on Kyiv and the surrounding region, which, according to local authorities, killed four people, including a child.
Zelenskyy arrived in Belgrade on Friday. At a joint press conference, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić called Ukraine a “friendly country” and noted that this was the Ukrainian president’s first visit to Serbia in eight years. The two sides discussed European integration, bilateral relations, and opportunities to expand cooperation.
“The situation in Ukraine is difficult. Last night there was another missile attack—ballistic missiles targeting our infrastructure. There were also attack drones,” Zelenskyy said. According to him, the U.S. has approved Ukraine’s production of its own Patriot interceptor missiles, but the process is being delayed due to paperwork and licensing issues.
The president stated that the Patriot is Ukraine’s only air defense system capable of shooting down ballistic missiles. He clarified that the monthly delivery volumes of interceptors in 2026 are lower than last year.

Local authorities reported that in the Brovary district, northeast of Kyiv, several Russian drones destroyed a family’s home. A three-year-old child and the child’s grandparents were killed. Three other family members and a neighbor who came to their aid were hospitalized. Zelenskyy also reported at least one fatality in Kyiv as a result of a strike by six ballistic missiles on civilian infrastructure.
In its daily report, the Ukrainian Air Force stated that it had shot down or intercepted 135 of the 151 drones launched by Russia overnight. The attack also included six ballistic missiles and other guided missiles.
Meanwhile, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported strikes on the Ilsk Oil Refinery in the Krasnodar Krai and the Syzran Oil Refinery in the Samara Oblast of the Russian Federation. Russian local authorities reported six people injured following a fire at the Ilsk Oil Refinery, which they attributed to drone debris.
