France strongly condemns the mass attack on Ukraine on 9 January
France has strongly condemned the large-scale Russian attacks on Ukrainian territory that took place on the night of 9 January.
This was stated by the spokesperson for the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pascal Confarvo, during a press briefing in Paris, reports European Pravda.
According to him, the attacks are further evidence that the Kremlin has no intention of pursuing a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
Confarvo emphasised that Russian forces struck mainly residential areas and energy infrastructure during the heart of winter.
As a result of the attacks, civilians were killed and injured, and parts of the Ukrainian population were left without electricity. Among the weapons used, French diplomats recorded the use of the “Oreshnik” ballistic missile.
The spokesperson called unacceptable Russia’s attempts to justify the strikes as a response to an alleged attack on the Russian president’s residence.
During the night assault on Kyiv, the home of Sofiya Nersesyan was also damaged.
