The General Staff reported 235 combat engagements in a day
Ukraine’s defence forces continue to hold back the massive pressure of Russian occupying troops, who have significantly intensified assault operations on several sections of the front.
This was stated in the morning briefing of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Over the past 24 hours, 235 combat engagements were recorded, with the most difficult situation remaining on the Pokrovsk and Huliaipole directions.
The enemy is actively using aviation and drones in an attempt to break through Ukrainian defences and capture new settlements.
On the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders demonstrated extraordinary resilience, repelling 57 enemy assault actions.
Fighting took place in the areas of Rodynske, Kotlyne, Udachne, and other settlements, where the aggressor tried to advance toward strategically important logistical hubs.
Despite constant pressure and artillery shelling, Ukrainian positions remain under the control of the Armed Forces, while the enemy’s assault groups suffer heavy losses.
The situation was no less tense on the Huliaipole direction, where the invaders attempted to advance 36 times.
The enemy attacked areas around Huliaipole and Bilohirya, and also tried to break through to the settlements of Zaliznychne and Dobropillia.
In addition to ground attacks, the enemy carried out massive airstrikes on Zaporizhzhia region, dropping dozens of guided bombs on civilian villages and defensive positions.
In total, over the day, the enemy launched 5,271 kamikaze drones over Ukrainian territory and conducted more than 3,200 shelling attacks with various types of weapons.
Populated areas in Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, and Zaporizhzhia regions were hit by airstrikes.
Active fighting also continued on the Kostiantynivka direction, where 18 attacks were repelled, and in Kurchyne, where Ukrainian troops successfully resisted 12 assault attempts.
It should be recalled that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have liberated 8 settlements and approximately 400 km² in southern Ukraine.
In addition, Ukrainian troops eliminated 1,360 Russian servicemen and four multiple rocket launcher systems in the past 24 hours.
