The situation on the front lines as of May 1: a report from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Over the past 24 hours, 138 combat engagements and massive strikes by the Russian Federation were recorded on the front lines, including nearly 9,500 kamikaze drones. As of May 1, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have inflicted significant losses on the enemy in terms of manpower and equipment and are holding their positions on all key fronts. The Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled dozens of attacks and eliminated over 1,400 invaders in the past 24 hours.

The 1,528th day of Russia’s large-scale armed aggression against Ukraine has begun.
Defense forces are repelling the occupiers’ attempts to advance deeper into Ukrainian territory, inflicting significant losses on the enemy in terms of manpower and equipment across various sections of the front.
In total, 138 combat engagements were recorded over the past 24 hours.
Yesterday, the enemy carried out 76 airstrikes and dropped 255 guided bombs. Additionally, they deployed 9,499 kamikaze drones and fired 3,304 rounds at populated areas and our troops’ positions, including 49 rounds from multiple launch rocket systems.
The aggressor carried out airstrikes, particularly in the areas of the settlements of Holubivka and Rudnia in Sumy Oblast; and Tavriiske and Komyshuvakha in Zaporizhzhia Oblast.
Over the past day, the Defense Forces’ aviation, missile forces, and artillery struck three drone control centers, one artillery system at a firing position, 11 areas where personnel were concentrated, and one other important occupier target.
In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk directions over the past day, the Defense Forces repelled three enemy attacks; the occupiers carried out 80 shelling attacks on our troops’ positions and populated areas, including 11 using multiple launch rocket systems.
In the Southern Slobozhansky direction, the enemy stormed the positions of our units seven times in the areas of the settlements of Lyman, Starytsia, Vovchansk, and Okhrimivka.
In the Kupiansk direction, the aggressor attacked five times toward Kurylivka, Kindrashivka, and Novoplatonivka.
In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled six attempts by the invaders to advance toward the settlements of Stavka, Drobysheve, Lyman, and Dibrova.
In the Sloviansk direction, over the past 24 hours, our defenders stopped three attempts by the occupiers to advance in the areas of the settlements of Zakytne, Riznykivka, and Yampil.
In the Kramatorsk sector, the enemy did not carry out any active operations.
In the Kostiantynivka sector, the aggressor carried out 16 attacks near Kostiantynivka, Pleshchiivka, Oleksandro-Shultynivka, Stepanivka, Sofiivka, Illinivka, and Ivanopil.
In the Pokrovsk direction, our defenders repelled 26 assaults by the aggressor in the areas of the settlements of Bilytske, Rodynske, Pokrovsk, Myrnohrad, Muravka, Kotlyne, Novooleksandrivka, Hryshyne, Udachne, and Molodetske.
In the Oleksandrivka sector, the enemy launched two attacks in the direction of Verbove and Zlagoda.
In the Huliaipole sector, the occupiers carried out 19 attacks in the areas of Dobropillia, Staroukrainka, Varvarivka, Zaliznychne, Zeleny, Tsvitkovy, Olenokostiantynivka, Huliaipole, and Charivne.
In the Orikhiv sector, the enemy carried out two attacks in the direction of Pavlivka and Shcherbakiv.
In the Dnipro direction, the Defense Forces successfully repelled five enemy assaults in the area of the Antonivsky Bridge and Bilohrudy Island.
In the Volyn and Polissya sectors, no signs of enemy offensive groupings were detected.
In total, Russian invaders suffered 1,420 casualties over the past day. The enemy also lost two tanks, three armored combat vehicles, 100 artillery systems, one multiple launch rocket system, one air defense system, 1,924 unmanned aerial vehicles, 403 vehicles, and two pieces of specialized equipment.
The occupiers are shelling Vovchansk in an attempt to capture the city and its surroundings, according to the "Forpost" brigade.
Ukrainian troops recently advanced in the Donetsk region. This refers to the area between Kostiantynivka and Druzhkivka, where the Defense Forces were able to improve their positions.
Since the start of the full-scale invasion, the Russian army has lost approximately 1,271,350 troops. In the last 24 hours alone, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have eliminated another 950 occupiers.
