General Staff updates data on occupiers’ losses
On December 26, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine released updated statistics recording significant losses of the Russian armed forces since the beginning of the war in Ukraine through the end of December 2025.
Total enemy personnel losses are estimated at 1,202,070 people, including 840 killed in the past 24 hours alone. These figures indicate steadily increasing pressure on the Russian army amid continued offensive activity.
Russian forces have suffered enormous losses in both manpower and equipment. Since the start of the invasion, 11,459 tanks, 23,804 armored combat vehicles, and 35,509 artillery systems have been destroyed. Aviation losses amount to 434 aircraft and 347 helicopters, along with 1,264 air defense systems, which significantly limits their capabilities. These figures highlight a decline in Russia’s military potential.
The destruction of 95,334 operational-tactical drones and 4,107 cruise missiles has been recorded. The growth of these numbers points to the active use of modern strike systems by the Ukrainian side.
At sea, the enemy has lost 28 ships and boats, as well as 2 submarines. The vehicle fleet has also suffered major losses: 71,454 vehicles and fuel tankers, plus 4,029 units of special equipment.
Overall, the data confirm a systematic weakening of Russia’s military potential and demonstrate the cost of aggression against Ukraine.

The cumulative losses underscore serious problems in the maneuverability and resolve of Russian forces, which in turn will affect future military operations. Active fighting continues along the flanks of the conflict, particularly in the Donetsk direction, where Russian troops continue to bombard civilian settlements. Amid rising tensions in the region, further developments leave many questions about the future strategies of both sides.
