The General Staff confirmed that the oil refinery in Saratov and the Engels airfield had been struck
On the night of August 2, the Ukrainian Defense Forces carried out strikes against a number of military and fuel-and-energy facilities on Russian territory. Among the targets hit were the Saratov oil refinery, the Engels airfield, an oil depot in the Kaluga region, and a storage facility for attack drones.
In Saratov, the local oil refinery was struck. According to military officials, a direct hit on the facility was recorded, followed by a fire on the refinery grounds. The extent of the damage is currently being assessed.
The Saratov Oil Refinery is one of the largest oil refining enterprises in the Volga region. Its capacity is approximately 7 million metric tons of crude oil processed per year. The General Staff noted that the refinery is involved in meeting the needs of the Russian military-industrial complex and the Russian Armed Forces.
Ukrainian forces also struck the Russian military airfield “Engels” in the Saratov region. A direct hit and a fire were reported there. This airfield is home to Tu-95MS and Tu-160 strategic bombers, which Russia uses to launch missile strikes against Ukraine.
In addition, the Lyudinovskaya oil depot in the Kaluga region, which is used to store and supply fuel and lubricants—particularly for the needs of Russian troops—was struck.
The General Staff also reported that a facility for storing, preparing, and launching attack drones in the Navli area of the Bryansk region was struck.
The day before, on August 1, the Ukrainian Armed Forces also struck command and control centers for Russian drones in the areas of Olkhozhemchugov (Kursk Oblast, Russian Federation), Berestka (Donetsk Oblast), Sichneve (Dnipropetrovsk Oblast), and Yablukove (Zaporizhzhia Oblast).

As a reminder, on the night of August 1, drones attacked a number of targets on Russian territory, including the Saratov oil refinery and the Wildberries logistics complex in the Samara region.
About 1,500 sellers on the Russian marketplace Wildberries lost their goods as a result of a fire at a warehouse in the Leningrad region following an attack by Ukrainian drones. This was stated by the region’s governor, Oleksandr Drozdhenko.
