Several regions of Ukraine left without power due to Russian shelling
As of the morning of 23 January, overnight strikes by Russian forces left consumers in Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhzhia regions without electricity.
This was reported by the Ministry of Energy.
Ukraine’s energy system is operating under increased load due to ongoing attacks and adverse weather conditions. Repair crews from energy companies and municipal heating services are continuously restoring damaged infrastructure.
In Kyiv, Kyiv region, and Odesa region, distribution system operators continue to implement network restrictions. Return to scheduled hourly power outages will occur once the situation stabilises.
To maintain the integrity of the energy system, emergency power shutdowns are currently being applied in most regions due to equipment overloads and high consumption levels.
Meanwhile, in the village of Cherkaske, Kramatorsk district, occupiers struck the private residential sector with a drone, killing four people, including a five-year-old child.
Yesterday afternoon, Russians also attacked a school building in Semenivka, Chernihiv region, using “Molniya” drones; two explosions were recorded.
